Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen liked playing sports as a young girl and excelled in sports. Her passion for sports was matched by an equally natural talent for acting. Her talent was exemplified by getting almost every Feis awards for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. As a teenager Maureen was accepted to the Abbey Theater, where her fascination with classical theater and operatic music was continued. Charles Laughton was mesmerized after seeing the Maureen screen examination. He was immediately captivated the beautiful eyes she had. Before casting her to star for the role in Jamaica Inn (1939), Laughton as well as his co-star Erich Pommer, changed her name to Maureen FitzSimons to "Maureen O'Hara" - - a smaller last name to fit the marquee. Maureen was under contract with Laughton to shoot her next film in America with RKO Pictures (The Hunchback of Notre The Dame, 1939). This epic movie had a huge success, and the contract of Maureen was purchased by Laughton to RKO. Maureen Laughton was already in two big motion pictures before she reached 19.
